Is it true the navy is no longer taking ASVAB scores under 80?

I'm currently a QNJ in the Navy and I told my recruiter I was considering and looked into going Army. I want to be a Corpsman in the Navy specialized in psychology. In the Army, I would be a mental health specialist. I heard that the HMs are overmanned. Is my recruiter pulling my leg?
