Theists: What if you'd been born in a different region?

I think one thing atheists and theists can agree on is that the main determiner of religion is where and by who you were raised. I don't get how this isn't a red flag of social construct over divine inspiration for theists, but it isn't. If you practice a religion that you weren't born into, you're an exception.
