In the bible, what does the word fear mean?

In the Bible, when it says you should fear God, it usually refers to respect. And if you respect Him, you will worship Him. You "fear" God because you know His capabilities, because you are aware of what He can do and what he has done for us. In a way, it means to love Him. People who don't fear God are only not afraid because they don't believe in Him. The true believers "fear".
