Is it safe to tattoo over varicose (spider) veins?

I am wanting to get a foot tattoo, but at the ripe old age of 30 I have some varicose veins in the location where I want the tattoo. I'm wondering if this is okay to tattoo over. If it is, great! At least I won't have to look at those spider veins any more. If not, I've always got another foot.
